This Benefit Analyst position works with the Client Executive to create a unique employee benefit strategy to address rising healthcare costs for existing customers in accordance with the objectives and procedures outlined by the Manager.


The Benefit Analyst's responsibilities include:

  • Collaborate with internal teams to align client budget objectives, evaluate plan design strategies, and identify optimal market opportunities for proposal development
  • Ability to work with groups of over fifty lives utilizing various funding mechanisms, including but not limited to fully-insured, self-funded, reference-based pricing (RBP), direct primary care (DPC), and level-funded models
  • Maintain current knowledge of underwriting guidelines, renewal development methodologies, and carrier product portfolios—including rates and coverage structures—to provide strategic, consultative support to Kapnick teams in evaluating and recommending tailored solutions
  • Negotiate with carriers on behalf of clients to ensure the best pricing is available for renewals and new offerings
  • Create RFP’s based on internal strategy discussions; follow-up on submissions and contact insurance carriers regarding quotation status
  • Leverage benchmarking tools to generate comparative reports for the service team upon request, supporting data-driven decision-making and performance evaluation.
  • Accountable for the post-renewal annual data validation and integration process, including auditing and updating datasets across reporting platforms to ensure accuracy and consistency for analytics and compliance.
  • Responsible for monthly claims reporting to Account Executive/Client Executive; include plan performance observations as appropriate
  • Responsible for generating standard and ad-hoc reports in response to data requests, utilizing a range of internal and external reporting tools and platforms to extract, transform, and visualize data as needed.
  • Assist the Manager of Financials & Analytics with department projects as needed
  • Attend departmental, agency, service team, and client meetings as required

Requirements

To be considered for the Benefit Advisor position, you should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree (4-year college or technical school) - Mathematics, Finance, Business, and Economics: Preferred
  • 3+ years of experience in employee group benefits
  • Advanced computer skills in Microsoft (Outlook, Excel, Word, and Power Point) familiarity with carrier underwriting tools (employee benefits), and agency management systems
