Position Overview: Essentially oversees the shipping and delivery of all warehouse finished goods and warehouse personnel. The supervisor will manage all warehouse inventory and maintain communications with carriers, supplies, and the main distribution location in Sandston, VA  

 

Reports to: Shipping Manager

 

Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Understand planning, shipping, warehouse management, and inventory systems. 
  • Manage all daily routes/schedules of finished goods deliveries. 
  • Maintain positive relations with all internal and external customers. 
  • Responsible for adhering to labor budget associated with facility.  
  • Track and communicate all shipping progress. 
  • Coordinate all aspects of warehouse operations.
  • Coordinate with direct reports to review all inventory needs and stock inventory. 

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Understand inventory management procedures and adhere to them. 
  • Coordinate and ensure proper loading and unloading of all finished goods products.
  • Responsible for inbound deliveries and coordination with the main distribution center in Houston, Texas. 
  • Plan and schedule all weekly delivery workloads. 
  • Coordinate with the Shipping Manager on personnel workload and all scheduling issues. 
  • Ensure that all transfers and purchase orders are complete and verified. 
  • Responsible for receiving, handling, and storing finished goods in the appropriate bin location. 
  • Ensure all procedures are completed in accordance with established Logistics and Warehouse processes. 
  • Responsible for all WHSE employee safety and compliance mandates. 
  • Ensures all employees (Temp/Permanent) are aware of their job duties and are cross-trained in any capacity that is necessary to aid in the development and growth of staff. 
  • Observe employee’s performance and train in proper processes and standards.
  • Responsible for enforcing all safety guidelines and procedures, GMP requirements, and all company policies within his/her area. 
  •  Other duties as assigned by management. 

 

Required Skills & Abilities:

  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. 
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision and supervise other’s work. 

Education & Experience:

  • High School /GED 
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or a combination of experience and postsecondary education. 
  • Class A driver’s license is highly desired. 
  • Possess forklift certification and able to train others on forklift operations. 
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Suite applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
