So what will you be doing in as a Maintenance Purchasing Clerk?
- Keeping parts cost updated, including setting up trade agreements
- Running necessary usage reports daily
- Maintaining an orderly arrangement of all parts and supplies
- Safeguarding inventories against theft, preventable waste, and unauthorized use
- Striving for continuous improvement in all aspects of the position, including Safety, Quality, and Production
- Maintaining and processing accurate inventory records
- Identifying slow-moving, obsolete, and damaged inventory
- Accurately inputting purchase orders
- Complying with the company’s policy and procedure manual in all aspects of purchasing and receiving
- Maintaining files in an orderly fashion, pulling files as requested, moving files to storage areas as necessary, and disposing of confidential documents at assigned locations
- Assisting and performing Parts Room Supervisor duties as needed
- Cross-training to fill in when Parts Room Partners are absent for any reason
- Assigning bin locations to parts
- Recognizing incorrect parts and taking appropriate action to correct the problem
- Assisting in handling incoming phone calls to the Parts Room
- Keeping all areas neat, organized, and clean
- Utilizing other sources to identify and locate parts or part numbers not readily available
- Entering and maintaining new part numbers
- Handle documentation, preparation and packaging of warranty and repair parts.
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- Proven ability to make valuable decisions regarding purchasing & receiving merchandise.
- Show previous experience in data entry position for at least one year.
- Ability to ten-key efficiently and accurately and have basic keyboarding knowledge in addition to performing basic mathematical functions necessary to perform the job.
- Ability to contain confidential information and records in a professional manner.
- Mental ability to handle strenuous and complex activity while meeting deadlines.
- Ability to understand and follow the company’s policy and procedures manual.
- Ability to exemplify a cooperative attitude necessary to work with all department and management teams as well as outside vendors.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- Experience purchasing in Microsoft D365 and Aptean EAM preferred.
