About FairWind

FairWind is a global leader in wind turbine installation and service, with operations in more than 40 countries. We are committed to safety, quality, and sustainable energy solutions. Our North American business continues to expand, and we are seeking a Regional Safety Specialist to help strengthen our QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, Environment) culture across projects in the U.S.

Position Summary

The Regional Safety Specialist is responsible for supporting FairWind’s safety culture by overseeing compliance with federal, state, local, and customer safety requirements. This role is hybrid in nature, combining office-based responsibilities (policy implementation, reporting, and compliance management) with frequent visits to project sites to monitor safety performance, conduct training, and engage directly with technicians and site leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular site visits across assigned region to perform audits, inspections, and safety observations.
  • Support project teams in ensuring compliance with OSHA, customer, and FairWind safety standards.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective/preventive action planning.
  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety training, and onboarding sessions for technicians.
  • Partner with Resource Managers and Site Managers to monitor technician training records, PPE inspections, and vehicle inspection compliance.
  • Track, analyze, and report regional safety metrics; identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with the QHSE Manager and global safety team on policy development and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support pre-job planning by reviewing site-specific safety requirements and assisting in developing job hazard analyses (JHAs) and safety plans.
  • Act as a visible, approachable presence in the field, promoting a proactive safety culture.

Requirements
  • 3–5+ years of safety/QHSE experience in construction, renewable energy, or industrial services.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety management systems.
  • Ability to conduct site audits, deliver training, and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; familiarity with safety reporting platforms.
  • Willingness to travel frequently (up to 50–70%) within assigned region.

Preferred:

  • Safety certifications (e.g., OSHA 30, CHST, CSP, STSC, GWO).
  • Experience in the wind energy, electrical, or construction industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to build strong safety culture and influence teams in the field.

Working Conditions

  • Hybrid role with mix of remote work and frequent site visits.
  • Must be comfortable with travel and working in field environments, including wind farms and construction sites.
  • Flexibility to adjust schedule based on project and site needs.
