About the role
The Rare Disease and Rare Blood Disorders Account Executive/Manager (AE/AM) is responsible for driving the commercial success of the Rare Disease and Rare Blood Disorder Portfolios within the defined territory. This will be achieved by identifying, educating and building advocates within the healthcare community to reduce the time to diagnosis of patients suffering from Lysosomal Storage Disorders (LSDs), specifically Fabry and Pompe diseases; to sell and grow Rare Blood Disorders products, specifically Haemophilia, using ethical approaches to achieve set business targets and objectives.
Responsibilities
Implement sales strategy and promotional activities to meet and exceed sales targets
Partner with Marketing, Medical Affairs, Sales colleagues and other key Rare Disease and Haemophilia stakeholders to ensure efforts are aligned to achieve company sales and marketing objectives
Understand and optimise the complex relationships and protocols impacting the hospital and Haemophilia Treatment Centres (HTC) environments.
Engage department decision makers, treaters, specialists and allied health staff (nurses, pharmacy and pathology) to drive disease awareness, testing and management of patients with particular focus on Genetic Panel Testing and Dry Blood Spot testing
Maintain activity in line with Business Account Plans including face-to-face calls (in person or via zoom), trade displays, conferences, educational events etc.
Develop new business and maintain existing accounts through regular and valuable contact with target customers in line with sales strategy
Stay current with relevant medical community issues and has a full understanding of global literature and clinical trials allowing the AE/AM to effectively communicate complex data
Facilitate highly clinical physician interactions, effortlessly recalling and appropriately discussing specific clinical data from studies
Continually monitor and analyse opportunities for existing and potential business and recommend appropriate approaches to maximise sales.
Comply with company SOPs, Medicines Australia Code of Conduct and ACCC requirements.
About You
Essential Skills and Qualifications
Demonstrable track record as a Specialist Representative, Hospital Sales Representative position or similar.
Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite of products
Tertiary qualifications in Pharmacy, Science, Nursing, Business, Marketing or Education. Alternatively, extensive pharmaceutical sales experience.
Completion of Medicines Australia CEP
Full Driver License
Desirable Skills and Experience
Experience in the Rare Diseases and/or Rare Blood Disorders setting and working knowledge of the hospital environment in cardiology, neurology, haematology
Key Account or Project Management skills
