Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated Data Engineer to join a global banking technology team in Málaga, Spain. This role focuses on designing and implementing data solutions for Corporate and Investment Banking, ensuring that business initiatives align with enterprise data architecture and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design functional data solutions, including processes, data models, and quality control frameworks.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to define and document data quality rules in line with governance principles.
• Review and sign off on functional designs, ensuring alignment with data architecture and strategy.
• Support business initiatives through the full project lifecycle, including go-live readiness.
• Provide guidance and best practices to ensure consistent data quality and compliance.
• Contribute to innovation and continuous improvement within Corporate & Investment Banking data initiatives.

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience

Required:

• 3+ years of experience in IT and big data projects.
• Proven experience with data governance tools.
• Strong SQL skills.
• Solid understanding of CIB business areas such as markets, global banking, or transactional banking (including pre/post-trade activities).
• Technical degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• High level of English (B2+ or higher).
• Experience working with public cloud providers (Azure or AWS).

Preferred:

• Experience in banking or financial services data projects.
• Familiarity with Agile project methodologies.

Other Requirements:

• Willingness to relocate to Málaga, Spain.
