First rotation schedules to begin in January of 2026. This is a paid position and housing assistance may be provided for qualifying applicants based on ZEON’s relocation policy.
Purpose:
This position is a developmental role, providing college level students an opportunity to practically employ and supplement their course work in a plant environment. Typically, the co-op arrangement is established in the Sophomore year of college and alternates semesters thereafter for three co-op experiences of increasing responsibility.
Job Functions/Accountabilities (Essential & Marginal):
- Support one or more experienced engineers in performance of assignments, spend time shadowing actual operations, and have unique assignments that support larger projects as well as experience the day-to-day workings of engineering.
- Assist in development of power distribution and controls circuit designs for industrial manufacturing facility.
- Develop new and revise existing electrical design documents using AutoCAD, Excel, or Word.
- Review drawings and perform field walkdowns to verify electrical and instrumentation installation drawings and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Coordinate with other engineering staff and engineering disciplines to serve internal customers.
- Perform weekly inspections of electrical rooms. If necessary, develop corrective actions for any observed issues.
- Assist in ongoing migration of historical documents to electronic records.
- Assist in control loop tuning using software tool, documenting progress and results.
- Participate in process management of change (MOC) activities and attend meetings bi-weekly.
- Participate in review of new engineering specifications and assist in adoption.
Qualifications:
Education:
Enrolled in a four (4) year or more college degree program with a Electrical Engineering major.
Skills and Abilities:
- Skilled in use of AutoCAD is required
- Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of audiences.
- Ability to identify, formulate, and solve complex engineering problems by applying principles of engineering, science, and mathematics.
- Positive attitude with ability to function effectively on a team.
- Skilled in use of Microsoft applications, including Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to prioritize tasks to meet schedules/deadlines and complete assignments accurately.
