Job Title: Part-time librarian
Reporting to: Head librarian, GCC
Location: Wellington Road, Cork
Job Type: Part-Time / Fixed term contract
Job Summary:
The part-time librarian will be employed in the library of Griffith College Cork. They will undertake general library duties here and will report to the head librarian
Job Responsibilities:
Library tasks
• Carrying out general library tasks, including:
o Checking books in and out of the library to students
o Assisting students locate textbooks (either hardcopy or softcopy versions)
o Assisting lecturing staff with requests for textbooks
o Making requests for additional textbooks known to head librarian
o Dealing with student enquiries
o Reserving books for students on request
Additional Tasks
• Assisting with learning support if required
• Other ad-hoc duties and project work as assigned by the college
• Any other duties that fall within the employee’s capabilities.
Minimum Education / Experience Requirements
• Excellent communication skills
• Cyber security background
• Ability to work on their own and show initiative
