Key Responsibilities: 

  • Support the ongoing development and improvement of the Quality Management System (QMS). 
  • Collaborate with the Contracts department to address customer inquiries related to product quality and reliability. 
  • Participate in contract reviews and help define quality requirements; ensure all contractual flow-downs are communicated to suppliers. 
  • Apply working knowledge of Navy Technical Publications (NAVSEA) -248, -271, -278, and -1688. 
  • Analyze and interpret quality data; present findings to relevant departments for corrective actions or process improvements. 
  • Contribute to the creation of Quality Plans and assist in root cause analysis and material review dispositions. 
  • Interpret Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to inspect mechanical parts and components. 
  • Operate and program Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) as needed to support inspections. 
  • Provide technical guidance to inspectors on drawings, specifications, and measurement techniques. 
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and adhere to all health and safety protocols.

Requirements

 Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent industry experience 
  • 5-8 years’ experience in a manufacturing and quality inspection environment, with at least 5 years in the defense industry 
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to standards and requirements 
  • Strong understanding of technical procedures and government regulations 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software 
  • Strong communication skills, both verbally and written
