THE POSITION: The Senior Program Specialist, History-Social Science, working in coordination with the Coordinator II, and under the direct supervision of the History-Social Science and Coordinator III, History-Social Science, shall act as a resource specialist to support and provide professional and technical assistance to K-12 classroom teachers and administrators to support implementation of the 2016 California History-Social Science Framework with a special emphasis on implementing high quality civic learning programming for all students beginning in elementary school and implementation of the State Seal of Civic Engagement for high school students.

EXPERIENCE: Five or more years of directly related and progressive teaching experience and experience leading professional learning. District level History- Social Science, Civic Learning, and Ethnic Studies coaching experience is desired. EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree and appropriate teaching credentials from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation. A Master’s degree is preferred. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE (All applicants must attach credential with document number to their application. Please do not attach the certificate copy of your Credential.
