Job Summary

THE POSITION: The Senior Program Specialist, History-Social Science, working in coordination with the Coordinator II, and under the direct supervision of the History-Social Science and Coordinator III, History-Social Science, shall act as a resource specialist to support and provide professional and technical assistance to K-12 classroom teachers and administrators to support implementation of the 2016 California History-Social Science Framework with a special emphasis on implementing high quality civic learning programming for all students beginning in elementary school and implementation of the State Seal of Civic Engagement for high school students.

Requirements / Qualifications

EXPERIENCE: Five or more years of directly related and progressive teaching experience and experience leading professional learning. District level History- Social Science, Civic Learning, and Ethnic Studies coaching experience is desired. EDUCATION: A Bachelor’s degree and appropriate teaching credentials from an institution of higher learning accredited by one of the six regional accreditation associations as recognized by the Council on Postsecondary Accreditation. A Master’s degree is preferred. LICENSE OR CERTIFICATE (All applicants must attach credential with document number to their application. Please do not attach the certificate copy of your Credential. See below for step-by-step instructions.): • Possess and maintain a Single Subject Social Science Teaching Credential or a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential with an English Learner authorization.
