We are actively looking for a CAD Technician to join our Sydney or Brisbane office.  As part of the CAD Group, the CAD Technician will assist with the planning and design of coastal and maritime infrastructure, including port infrastructure, recreation maritime infrastructure, marinas, coastal engineering works, waterfront development and environmental projects

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Transform initial design sketches and mark-ups into finished working documents
  • Draft detailed drawings of maritime and coastal engineering structures
  • Compute volumes of excavations and fill for dredging and earthmoving projects
  • Assist designers and engineers with preparation of engineering drawing packages
  • Assist engineers with fieldworks, site inspections and data collection

Qualifications:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma Engineering Drafting or equivalent in relevant discipline
  • Up to 2 years of related experience 
  • AutoCAD and/or Civil3D (essential)
  • Understanding and application of CAD standards
  • Good numeracy, geometry and computer skills

Preferred education and experience

  • Revit proficiency is desirable
  • GIS (QGIS or ArcGIS) proficiency is desirable 
  • Knowledge of material properties
  • Knowledge of relevant Australian Standards
  • All new hires will be required to successfully complete and pass a pre-employment (post offer) background check in compliance with NIST 800-171

Working conditions:

Sedentary for prolonged period of time, interact with clients, and travel occasionally.
