A position has been declared open in the Weber School District at Technical Services for a Software Developer. This position is for 8.00 hours per day, 250 days (12 months) per year, is compensated according to Lane 4 of the Technical Services Salary Schedule, and is eligible for benefits.

Purpose Statement:
The job of Software Developer was established for the purpose of leading technical implementation, providing advanced support for software solutions, and mentoring junior staff. This role focuses on hands-on development and problem-solving within the Student Information System (SIS), business platforms, and third-party integrations, ensuring high-quality and reliable code.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
- Develop SIS Applications
- Contribute to modifying existing SIS systems using JavaScript, jQuery, and PSHTML (under guidance from senior developers)
- Help create new features and reports using Angular
- Complete Enterprise Reports using Oracle APEX Developer
- Build Backend Integrations
- Support the development of processes in C# to integrate with third-party systems (SQL, API requests, FTP, etc.)
- Work with senior engineers to connect backend systems such as databases and Active Directory
- Contribute to developing and maintaining unit tests
- Build Web Applications
- Participate in building and maintaining web applications using C# MVC
- Help create responsive client-side applications using CSS and Bootstrap
- Develop and Maintain Business Operations Software
- Contribute to building and maintaining business web applications using C#
- Support the creation of processes in C# to integrate with third-party systems (SQL, API requests, FTP, etc.)
- Help modify and create reports using SQL queries and API requests
- Participate in the Development Team
- Collaborate in code reviews to learn best practices and ensure product quality
- Attend training sessions to strengthen software engineering skills
Job Requirements and Minimum Qualifications (Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities):
- Familiarity with SQL and relational databases
- Familiarity with front-end programming (HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery)
- Familiarity with backend programming (C# preferred)
- Understanding of version control systems such as Git
- Awareness of the software development life cycle (Agile/Scrum a plus)
- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and work with detailed information
- Strong collaboration and communication skills
Job Qualifications:
- Experience: Experience in a software development role.
- Education: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
