Major/Essential Functions
- VEHICLE MAINTENANCE: Maintains documents for assigned vehicle relating to daily mileage, fuel requirements and quarterly maintenance.
- PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Seek and attend training opportunities to keep up to date with latest available technologies, building codes, life safety codes, construction techniques and energy and natural resource conversation.
- TECHNICAL SUPPORT: Makes decisions on technical, administrative and management problems identified by periodic inspections of construction projects and coordinates with the appropriate project manager for compliance with the contract documents.
- INSPECTIONS: Conducts routing on site inspection of work in progress to determine compliance with contract documents, quality of work & materials. Reports contract deficiencies to the project manager. Maintains a daily log of site activities for construction projects. Ensures site safety compliance. Assist department with site utility locates and shutdowns and other duties.
- GENERAL: Supports the customer service philosophy of Texas Tech University. Complies with university and Operations Division policies, procedures and work rules. Complies with all attendance polices and guidelines.
- QUALITY CONTROL: Maintains project record files for projects under construction. Includes review of submittals, as-built mark up of drawings and specifications to ensure they represent what is actually completed in the field.
