Join a caring team supporting Scripps Mercy Hospital San Diego as a Surgical Coordinator in the Surgery department. You'll be on the front line for creating a positive Scripps Health experience for our patients while being responsible for duties such as the following:

  • Working alongside the RN charge nurse to provide administrative and clerical support for a group of patients and caregivers.
  • Related functions supporting timekeeping process, filing, staff scheduling, attendance tracking, data collection and reporting and special projects.
  • Serving as the primary communication point of contact for the unit; manage the communication system for the unit, input computer orders for patients, schedule and monitor charging procedures, book add-on surgery cases, verify patient demographics, insurance eligibility, and assist other team members in assuring optimal patient care. 

Required Qualifications: 

  • Previous administrative support experience.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and computer skills. 
  • Prior experience in a healthcare setting. 

Preferred Qualifications:  

  • Experience working in Surgical Specialties/Surgery.
