Are you ready to launch your career in payroll? Do you enjoy working with numbers, solving problems, and supporting others? If so, this is a fantastic opportunity to join Cornwall Council’s Payroll team as a Payroll Apprentice.
We process over 30 monthly payrolls and provide payroll services to Cornwall Council, schools, academies, and external organisations—paying over 30,000 people each month. As an apprentice, you’ll gain valuable experience in a busy payroll environment while working towards a nationally recognised Level 3 Payroll Administrator qualification.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting the accurate and timely processing of payrolls
- Assisting with pay-related queries from employees and managers
- Learning how to apply payroll legislation and Council policies
- Using payroll systems and Microsoft Excel to manage and analyse data
What we’re looking for:
- A genuine interest in payroll
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning
- Basic IT skills, including familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Good communication skills and a team-focused attitude
