A bit about the role

Clifton Road provides residential support to young people aged 16–21, including those previously looked after in local authority children’s homes, foster care, or secure residential settings. Our aim is to improve life chances and promote independent living through tailored accommodation and support, delivered in partnership with other agencies.

As a Residential Support Worker, you’ll play a vital role in building happier lives for children, young people, and their families by delivering person-centred interventions in line with organisational policies and regulatory requirements. You’ll manage risk in a way that empowers young people, fosters resilience, and ensures their safety, while serving as a positive role model and upholding strong social care values.

We also offer outreach support to Unaccompanied Asylum-Seeking Young People, providing one-to-one assistance to help them navigate the asylum process and develop independence. This includes practical help with cooking, city navigation, legal appointments, education access, and emotional wellbeing.

This role is ideal for individuals with experience in care settings who are ready to take the next step in their career. In return, we offer a comprehensive induction, ongoing training, and enrolment in industry-recognised qualifications. Regular supervision and team meetings will ensure you feel supported and connected. With the right experience and qualifications, you’ll be well-positioned to progress within our organisation.

How you’ll create brighter futures

Some key responsibilities of the Residential Support Worker are to;

  • Lead care planning and case management for children and young people, including multi-agency coordination, risk assessment, needs analysis, and participation in professional meetings such as reviews and court proceedings.
  • Deliver holistic support to service users by promoting independent living skills, administering medication and clinical procedures, maintaining accurate records, and fostering positive relationships through emotional and social support.

Let’s talk about you

Are you resilient and have a positive approach to change and challenge? We’re looking for someone with a ‘can do’ attitude to join our team. Ideally you’ll have:

  • Demonstrable experience of working in a care setting and developing positive relationships through trust.

  • Application of a range of techniques to co-ordinate and communicate with service users and their families.

  • Demonstrate a solution focused approach to address problems, individually and in a team setting.

  • Demonstrate emotional resilience to respond to the challenging nature of the role.

  • HNC in social care and or SVQ 3 or willingness to work towards them.
  • Registered with SSSC or willingness to do so within 6 months of employment.

Please note we are unable to offer visa sponsorship for this role.
