Position Overview:
The World Languages and Cultures Department is seeking LOS (Languages Other than Spanish) Oral Proficiency Leaders for Mandarin Chinese, French, German, Italian, and Japanese.
New leaders should register for the Techniques Training course: WLC:293-01

Learning Objectives:
- Gain experience creating and/or following lesson plans
- At least ten hours' experience classroom instruction
- Increased confidence in language of instruction
Responsibilities:
- Meet with the OPC students weekly for 50-minute sessions to practice speaking. Each session is allotted up to 10 minutes paid prep time.
- Conduct activities designed to encourage language students to communicate in the relevant foreign language. All activities should be conducted in the target language. All written materials should be in the target language.
- Keep careful records of attendance and participation and submit these records on a weekly basis.
Attend a training orientation each semester.
Qualifications:

- Ability to work on TCNJ Campus.
Preferred Qualifications:
- A LOS (Language Other than Spanish) Oral Proficiency Leader must have completed the relevant class or be able to test out of said class. Preferred candidates will have received higher grades in the relevant class, come with an instructor recommendation, and have experience—or at least an interest—in foreign language instruction.
