Position Summary:
LAFCU's Training Manager is responsible for leading and managing the routine functions of the Training Department. The duties include developing, executing and maintaining training programs. A good level of interpersonal skills, a moderate knowledge of federal and state training compliance standards. Strong oral and written communication skills are required and adherence to all Credit Union policies & procedures is expected. This role is a full-time, exempt, management position and reports directly to the VP, Human Resources in the Training Department.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of strategic training initiatives that support LAFCU’s mission, values, and evolving operational needs across a multi-platform environment. Integrate AI tools, knowledgebase systems, and digital platforms to enhance training accessibility and effectiveness.
- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs for new hires, existing staff, and leadership, covering systems, procedures, member service, and compliance.
- Collaborate with IT, Operations, and compliance teams to ensure training content reflects current system functionality, regulatory requirements, and process updates. Maintain intermediate to advanced knowledge of core systems (e.g., Symitar, MeridianLink, etc.), digital platforms, and internal applications to effectively train, cross-train, and troubleshoot.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop training staff to ensure a high-performing, collaborative team culture. This includes setting clear expectations, providing regular coaching and feedback, and supporting individual employee development plans. Includes, but not limited to, identifying skill gaps, creating growth opportunities, and guiding performance improvement efforts, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous learning, while ensuring alignment with LAFCU’s strategic goals and training philosophy, facilitate cross-training across platforms and departments to build team versatility and resilience.
- Develop and maintain training materials, electronic manuals, and multimedia content tailored to various learning styles and job functions. Ensure all training programs meet federal and state compliance standards, including NCUA, FFIEC, BSA/AML, and other applicable regulations.
- Coordinate and track compliance and regulatory training to meet federal and state requirements. Learning Management Systems (LMS) to assign, track, and report on employee training progress, and compliance status.
Qualification & Opportunities:
- 3–5 years in training, instructional design, or employee development, preferably in a financial institution.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Development, Instructional Design, Communications, or related field preferred.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills; able to engage diverse audiences and foster collaboration.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, LMS platforms, and multimedia design tools Strong analytical and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities Familiarity with compliance standards and financial services operations
Salary:
- The minimum and maximum base salary range for this position is $87,956.66 to $139,028.61 in California.
- The target starting base hourly rate is between $87.956.66 to $113,493.23.
- This compensation and benefits information is based on Los Angeles Federal Credit Union's good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future.
- The starting base salary within the range will depend on a variety of factors that may include relevant prior experience and/or education, or skills and expertise.
