The Quality Inspector/Engineer is responsible for both hands-on inspection of machined parts and driving quality assurance and continuous improvement across Atlas’s machine shop and field machining divisions. This role will begin with a focus on various manual inspections and calibration responsibilities and may expand to include quality engineering initiatives, internal audits, supplier quality support, and ISO 9001:2015 compliance.

Atlas is a custom machining and repair shop, not a production line, so inspection needs change daily based on part geometry, customer requirements, and job-specific instructions. The ideal candidate must be adaptable, confident in using a variety of hand measuring tools, and capable of inspecting diverse parts with a high degree of accuracy. They will bridge shop-floor precision and process-level improvements while fostering collaboration across Quality, Engineering, and Operation teams.

The Quality Inspector/Engineer will play a key role in maintaining and enhancing the Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring compliance with industry standards, and fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.

COMPANY CULTURE AND VALUES

Here at Atlas, we believe that every individual should take full ownership and show respect to all employees, regardless of department or reporting structure. This core value is something we uphold every day. Below are the key principles we stand by.

  • Cover and Move (Teamwork and Support): We seek candidates who thrive in a collaborative environment, supporting their team to achieve shared goals and overcome challenges together.
  • Simple (Clarity and Communication): Candidates should value clear, straightforward communication, ensuring everyone understands their role to maintain efficiency and avoid confusion.
  • Prioritize and Execute (Efficiency and Focus): We look for individuals who can prioritize tasks effectively, focusing on the most critical issues to make the best use of time and resources.
  • Decentralized Command (Empowerment and Trust): Ideal candidates take ownership of their responsibilities, make informed decisions independently, and align their efforts with the company’s mission while fostering innovation and accountability.
