What You’ll Do:

  • Design and Create Patterns: Design, construct, and repair metal, wood, or plastic patterns used in sand casting or other metal casting processes.
  • Interpret Technical Documents: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD files to ensure accurate pattern fabrication.
  • Tool and Equipment Operation: Operate hand tools, power tools, and CNC machinery to shape and assemble patterns.
  • Inspect and Maintain Patterns: Inspect patterns for wear, defects, or inaccuracies and make necessary adjustments or repairs.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work with foundry engineers, mold makers, and production teams to ensure patterns meet casting specifications and tolerances.
  • Quality Control: Ensure patterns meet dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and material quality requirements.
  • Material Selection: Select appropriate materials for patterns based on casting requirements, such as durability and shrinkage considerations.
  • Problem-Solving: Identify and troubleshoot issues in pattern design or fabrication that may affect the casting process.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of pattern specifications, changes, and maintenance schedules.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area.

What You'll Bring:

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational training in pattern making or a related field preferred. Certification in pattern making or metal casting from an accredited institution is a plus.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in pattern making, tool and die making, or a related field.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, CAD designs, and technical specifications.
    • Experience with CNC machining, lathes, milling machines, and other fabrication tools.
    • Knowledge of foundry processes, including sand casting and metal molding.
    • Familiarity with materials used in pattern making, such as wood, plastic, and metals.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and move heavy patterns or tools (often 50+ pounds).
    • Manual dexterity and attention to detail for precision work.
    • Comfortable standing for extended periods and working in foundry environments with exposure to heat, dust, and noise.
  • Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting: Demonstrates strong analytical skills to identify and resolve issues in pattern design and fabrication processes.
  • Attention to Detail: Maintains a high standard of precision and accuracy, ensuring quality assurance in every stage of pattern making.
  • Collaboration and Independence: Effectively works both independently to meet deadlines and as part of a team to achieve project goals.
  • Communication Skills: Clearly conveys technical information and collaborates efficiently with other departments to meet casting specifications.

Your Schedule:

  • 1st Shift, Monday – Friday,  5:00 AM - 1:00 PM
