JOB DESCRIPTION

 

POSITION:                   Desk Attendant, Snowsports School

FLSA:                           Non-Exempt

REPORTS TO:             Snowsports School Management Team

 

SUMMARYThe Snowsports Desk Administration assists with the planning, staffing and scheduling/ reservation operations of the resort’s group, private, and children’s ski and snowboard lessons.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Smile and greet guests in a friendly manner
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Must work with the Snow Sports and Treehouse Children’s Program Staff to maintain staffing levels for all lessons.
  • Multi-task management of emails, voicemails, phone calls, and in-person reservations for lessons.
  • Responsible for cash handling and deposit procedures that allow for proper handling of all cash at the sales station.
  • Responsible for fielding and managing in-person and on-phone reservation calls and following proper protocol.
  • Must follow all written rules required in the Wintergreen Employee Handbook and individual departments.
  • Works with office staff to ensure all aspects of guest reservations are running smoothly.
  • Assist with daily registrations
  • Follow safety policies and procedures that help to prevent harm to associates, guests, and members
  • Notify Managers of any safety concerns in the workplace and reporting any accidents immediately to the manager

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Excellent oral communication skills
  • Possess strong customer service skills
  • Enjoy working with the general public
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Present a neat and positive image along with a professional appearance
  • Possess problem solving skills
  • Easily adapt to change

EDUCATION, TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE GUIDELINES:

  • At least 1 year of work experience is preferred   
  • Intermediate ability in skiing/riding is preferred
  • Possess computer skills including the ability to quickly learn new computer programs; experience with point-of-sale and reservation programs a plus

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

  • This is a full-time or part-time, seasonal non-exempt position
  • The hours of the position will vary based on business operations. The incumbent will be required to work  weekends and holidays.
  • This position will begin November and run through the end of ski season.
  • Required to stand for extended periods, stoop, bend, kneel, stretch, reach, lift, climb and walk.
  • Repetitive typing requiring use of hands, wrists and fingers.
  • Prolonged use of computer screen and telephone to complete tasks.
  • Occasional lifting of objects of up to 30 pounds.
