We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Clinician to join our GRIT team, a residential program providing structured, person-centered counseling and recovery-oriented services. This role focuses on supporting LGBTQIA+ adults (18+) with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders. Our program is committed to creating a safe, affirming, and inclusive environment where LGBTQIA+ individuals feel supported, respected, and empowered in their recovery journey. The Clinician will work collaboratively with our skilled multidisciplinary team to help residents build the framework for long-term recovery and develop aftercare plans for a successful transition back into the community.
About GRIT
GRIT is a comprehensive residential program designed to support individuals in their recovery journey by providing a structured, person-driven approach. Residents benefit from individualized counseling, skill-building, and support as they work toward their goals. Our program emphasizes a holistic approach to recovery, recognizing the intersection of mental health and addiction. Family involvement is encouraged, and residents are supported in developing sustainable plans for a successful life beyond the program.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct individual therapy sessions with residents to address co-occurring mental health and substance use challenges.
• Facilitate two clinical groups per week, fostering a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment.
• Collaborate with the GRIT treatment team—including licensed clinicians, case managers, prescribers, and recovery staff—to create individualized recovery plans.
• Support residents in their recovery journey, helping them build resilience, perseverance, and confidence.
• Provide input on aftercare planning to ensure successful community reintegration.
• Maintain thorough and accurate clinical documentation in accordance with program guidelines.
• Work directly with residents participating in structured activities, including education, job training, community volunteering, or employment.
Requirements
• Must have a bachelor's or master's degree in social work, mental health, psychology or a related field.
• LCSW, LICSW, LMHC, LADC1 preferred
• Must be able to pass and obtain certifications in CPR and First Aid.
• Strong understanding of trauma-informed care, harm reduction, and recovery-oriented treatment approaches. Knowledge LGBTQIA+ affirming practices is a plus.
• Demonstrate commitment to providing inclusive and culturally competent care for diverse populations.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Excellent communication, documentation and organizational skills.
• Valid Driver's license, sufficient automobile insurance, acceptable driving record, and a safe reliable vehicle during working hours.
Position Details:
• Hours: Full-Time (40 hours per week)
• Schedule: Tuesday–Saturday (9–5, 10–6)
• Required availability: Must be available to work two late nights per week and one weekend day.
