About the Department

Lifeguards are responsible for responding to any level of incident or emergency around the pool areas and the facility. Lifeguards maintain communication and relationships with other staff, members or guests while enforcing our established rules in a fair and polite manner and completing any other tasks assigned by the Aquatic Coordinator or Aquatic Lead. Above all, the safety of our members and guests is of the highest importance in this safety sensitive position.

Minimum Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be 15 years of age or older.
- Must have a suitable level of High School education for the age of the candidate, or a High School Diploma or GED.
- To qualify for this position the candidate or employee must pass a criminal background check.
- Basic CPR, AED, and First Aid Certifications are required.
- Preventing Disease Transmission (PDT) required within 60 days of hire.
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification (or equivalent) or that has been expired for less than one (1) year.
- One (1) or more years of customer service experience preferred.
- Aquatic Facility Operator (AFO) or Certified Pool Operator (CPO) Certification.
- American Red Cross LG Instructor or equivalent.
- Lifeguard Instructor Trainer (LGIT) certification.
- Water Safety Instructor (WSI) certification.
- Water Safety Instructor Trainer (WSIT) certification.
Other Qualifications
Typical Hiring Pay Range: $20.50 - $21.75 per hour.
WORK SCHEDULE
Primary shifts for this position vary to include both daytime and evening shifts of approximately six (6) hours. Individuals in this position must be flexible in terms of availability; and may on occasion be required to work other shifts as needed, including early mornings, late nights, weekends, and holidays.
