The following are tasks to be performed by the Manufacturing Supervisor. The duties are not limited to this list. Any additional requirements, changes, or deletions will be at the discretion of the VP Quality & Productivity. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential responsibility and duty satisfactorily.
SUMMARY: The Manufacturing Supervisor is responsible supervising and overseeing the Paint Shop, for cross-functional collaboration with stakeholders to prioritize improvement opportunities, plan New Product Introductions (NPIs), and optimize workflows, space, and staffing. Responsibilities include managing personnel, scheduling and labor planning to maximize staff utilization and ensure alignment with customer demand; overseeing production performance to ensure targets for PPH and yield are met; reporting daily performance metrics; addressing BOM issues; and actively participating in staffing by evaluating candidates for both technical and cultural fit. The role also involves supporting team development by providing coaching, performance feedback, and recognition in partnership with team leads; acting in accordance with Altek's policies; and meeting the goals and expectations defined by management.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervises Paint Shop in conjunction with the VP Quality & Production (direct reports include all Painters, Paint Shop Leads and Production Finishers).
- Gathers input from stakeholders to form a consensus on prioritizing identified opportunities for improvement
- Collaborates with stakeholders to lead, analyze and plan work flow, space requirements and equipment layout of New Product Introductions (NPIs)
- Maintains Paint & Assembly schedule and labor planning, while maximizing overall staff utilization (job on %)
- Works closely with Master Scheduler to ensure labor and customer demands are balanced (level loaded)
- Executes planned schedule and provides pertinent feedback to stakeholders
- Monitors production and personnel, assuring PPH and Yields are meeting planned standards
- Executes daily production performance reporting
- Addresses BOM inaccuracies with stakeholders
- Staff department with best possible candidates to meet labor needs; gathering a broad spectrum of input from various stakeholders regarding a candidate’s cultural fit within Altek as well as their technical expertise as compared to the job requirements
- Provides direct reports prompt, honest feedback in a coaching/team building capacity in collaboration with Lead(s) to develop the greatest potential in the individual and in the team
- Monitors performance progress related to qualitative PDP factors in collaboration with Lead(s), providing praise and recognition to those that demonstrate improvement and adaptability
- Builds and maintains positive rapport with other Altek employees, customers and/or suppliers

QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Experience working with an ERP system, or other comparable programs
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a production or manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated leadership skills and experience
- Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles and Six Sigma (preferred)
- Proficient in computer applications, with excellent reading, verbal communication, math, and writing abilities
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team setting
- Self-driven with a strong sense of initiative
- Capable of providing support and assistance to colleagues as needed, fostering a collaborative work environment
