Reefer Technician
Full-Time
Hartland, NB
Schedule:
- Two (2) 12-hour day shifts during the week (rotating)
- Two (2) 8-hour day shifts on the weekend
As a Refrigeration Technician at Day & Ross, you will be responsible for repairing and inspecting reefer units, and be a key member of our maintenance team. We offer competitive compensation, extensive medical coverage, pension plan and a tool and boot allowance.
How You’ll Help:
- Conduct inspections of reefer units. Document and record the inspection and findings, and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Diagnose, repair and maintain reefer units, including diesel engines and fuel systems, mechanical refrigeration systems components and controls. Electrical and satellite components. Exterior body and frame components. Recognize additional maintenance and repair that could be performed and escalate to the supervisor.
- Ensure the work area is clean and tidy, which includes regular cleanup, washing of vehicles and sweeping.
- Operate yard equipment when required.
- Other duties as required.
Your Skills & Experience:
- Transport Refrigeration Technician (TRT) license considered an asset.
- Experience in diesel engines and heavy equipment HVAC and exposure working in a maintenance department around reefer units.
- Communication skills verbal and written
- Computer skills is required.
- Ability to maintain an open line of communication with the shift foreman/supervisor
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team player and have a positive attitude.
