Job Description:
  • Lead a workforce of union employees across multiple departments at Chelsea Proving Grounds

  • Distribute work orders and coordinate work hand-off between shifts (3-shift operation)

  • Understand basic job requirements for all work and hold employees accountable for timing on job completion

  • Ensure employees document all issues and potential customer concerns

  • Communicate with onsite engineering team regarding vehicle status and required engineering assistance

  • Troubleshoot basic iPad and other technology issues

  • Handle scheduling and timekeeping for all department employees

  • Understand and apply union contract

  • Discipline according to union contract

  • Complete monthly safety talk sign-offs for supervised workforce and submit on time

  • Create maintenance requests for damaged/broken equipment and facilities

  • Monitor consumable stock and maintain required levels for test plan requirements

  • Maintain current safety protocols and develop improvements for employees

  • Present on a rotating schedule in the plant-wide safety meeting for safety improvements

  • Ensure test vehicles are driven according to requested testing requirements

  • Ensure test vehicles are properly maintained and work orders are completed on time to meet milestone requirements

  • Lead ongoing process improvements and best practices within the departments

  • Ensure proper employee training is completed for all required work

  • Review departmental overtime requests and determine requirements to meet test completion and certification targets

  • Work additional hours as required, including weekends and holidays when needed

  • Review performance and issue discipline when employees have not met minimum requirements

  • Order all parts required for employees to complete their everyday tasks

  • Serve as Incident Commander and lead Emergency Response Team efforts on all shifts if needed
