JOB DESCRIPTION             

This position is located in and will report out of Columbus, OH.

Position Title:    Legal and Contract Administrative Assistant

Reports To:    General Counsel 

FLSA Status:        Non-Exempt

Basic Functions:    Primarily supports the Senior VP & GC with administrative assistance and provides support to other members of the Legal Department as necessary. Also serves as a backup for initiation and coordination of administrative functions associated with contractual agreements of AMP and its affiliated entities’, and for maintaining records of the Legal Department.  Prepares PowerPoint presentations, correspondence, and coordinates internal and external meetings. Represent the department in a professional, helpful manner, with the ability to troubleshoot and solve day-to-day problems, while maintaining confidentiality. 

Essential Functions:

1.    Performs administrative support for the Legal Department. 

2.    Serves as a backup for AMP’s contract administrator, acting as a liaison between company personnel, members and third parties in the initiation, development, and execution of contracts.

3.    Organizes and maintains the Legal record keeping system and serves as the records administrator for the Legal Department in connection with all applicable records retention policies.

4.    Assists with scheduling and conducting meetings. 

5.    Provides effective development, formatting, proofing, editing, and tracking of documents for consistency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, and Teams. 

6.    Coordinates travel and prepares expense reports for GC and Deputy GCs in the Legal Department, as needed. 

7.    Works collaboratively to complete or assist with special projects/assignments and provides internal and external customer service excellence. 

8.    Other duties as assigned. 

Knowledge, Skills, & Qualifications:

1.    A high school diploma is required; some college or paralegal training is preferred.

2.    A minimum of two (2) years of experience in a legal environment is required. 

3.    Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles and practices of organization, planning, records management and general administration.

4.    Must exhibit highly effective communication skills as well as exhibit exemplary writing, analytical and creative problem-solving skills.

5.    Must work well and efficiently, independently and as part of a team.

6.    Must have the ability to follow oral and written instructions.

7.    Must have the ability to pay attention to detail and be precise.

8.    Must be proficient in Oracle, Word, PowerPoint and contract management software.
