Quality Engineer

About the Role
Altamira Material Solutions, an Evantic Company, is seeking a Quality Engineer to join our team. In this role, you’ll own overall quality management activities, including monitoring product quality, leading corrective actions, and driving improvements that reduce scrap and enhance customer satisfaction. You will partner cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, Supplier Quality, Customer Service, and Sourcing to identify root causes of issues and implement sustainable solutions.
This is an exciting opportunity for a hands-on problem solver with strong technical and analytical skills to make a meaningful impact on product quality and operational performance.
What You’ll Do
- Develop, maintain, and audit the Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001 standards and customer requirements.
- Lead corrective and preventive actions, customer audits, and quality system compliance activities.
- Investigate root causes of nonconforming materials, assign appropriate coding, and drive resolution.
- Support manufacturing operations by providing quality engineering expertise and leading corrective action implementation for major issues.
- Partner with Purchasing to evaluate and audit suppliers, monitor supplier quality, and perform source inspections.
- Participate in contract and design reviews, ensuring customer requirements are clearly identified and met.
- Lead continual improvement projects utilizing Six Sigma tools, statistical analysis, and other quality methodologies.
- Perform hands-on inspections, testing, and reporting as needed to support engineering and operations.
- Provide training and guidance on quality standards, tools, and best practices.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) Strongly perferred.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a manufacturing quality environment with ISO 9001 systems.
- Strong knowledge of PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, SPC, and MSA (preferred).
- Proven problem-solving experience with 8D methodology; Six Sigma certification a plus.
- Experience with quality system auditing; auditor certification preferred.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across all levels of the organization.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with QMS data systems and ERP/MRP systems preferred.
