The Community Life Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing the highest level of customer service to community members, prospective members, and guests at The Hub, a new community center serving Sunnydale and the Greater Visitacion Valley. The Hub provides inclusive spaces for community members to gather, learn, play, and make connections.
The Community Life Administrative Assistant helps community members with membership applications, program registration, and connects community members to neighborhood resources and Mercy’s Community Life team. This role provides project, administrative, and clerical support. Additionally, this role assists with data entry, communication and outreach efforts, and responds to resident inquires, problems, and emergencies as appropriate.
We encourage candidates with lived experience to apply. This is an on-site position. Candidates with bilingual proficiency in English and either Mandarin or Cantonese are preferred.
Pay: $24.00-27.00/hour DOE

Duties:
- Provide project, administrative, and clerical support (Answer phones, schedule meetings, data entry, respond to community center inquiries, etc.)
- Utilize trauma-informed strategies to maintain a welcoming, clean, and friendly, and lobby and front desk area.
- Professionally greet all guests who enter the community center and encourage Hub members to sign-in with their membership code/card to keep accurate data of all guests who visit the community center.
- Provide the highest level of customer service to members, prospective members, and guests.
- Effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service oriented manner.
- Help community members complete membership applications, program registration forms, and other important documents
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of front desk experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- One -year of front desk experience at a community center, recreation facility, or other non-profit human services organization
- Two-years work experience in social services or customer service-related field.
- Graphic Design skill
- Experience applying the principles of conflict management, and organizing groups, events, or programs.
- Experience maintaining websites, and other social media accounts (ie: Instagram, facebook, etc.)
