We are seeking a Controls Engineer to join our plant engineering team and support automation and manufacturing operations. This role will focus on designing, programming, and optimizing control systems to improve efficiency, safety, and reliability across our facilities. 

Key Responsibilities 

Design, program, and troubleshoot PLC-based control systems (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) 

Develop and maintain HMI, SCADA, and MES applications to support manufacturing processes (FactoryTalk, Indusoft) 

Analyze and improve automation processes to enhance quality, cost, and throughput 

Integrate new equipment and technologies into existing control architectures 

Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams, including training and troubleshooting 

Assist with industrial network design and configuration (Ethernet/IP, Kepware OPC, etc.) 

Support commissioning, startup, and debugging of new systems 

Ensure compliance with safety regulations, standards, and best practices 

Utilize data systems for troubleshooting and machine improvement (IBA). 

Skills & Qualifications 

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electro-Mechanical, Computer, or related engineering field (or equivalent experience) 

1-3 years of experience in controls engineering, automation, or related field 

Proficiency in PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent) 

Strong experience with HMI and SCADA systems 

Ability to troubleshoot power systems and read electrical schematics 

Experience with motion control, servo systems, robotics, or CNC equipment (preferred) 

Knowledge of industrial communication protocols and network troubleshooting 

Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications 

Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills 

Additional Requirements 

Must be able to access all areas of the plant and lift up to 50 lbs 

Ability to travel as needed (minimal, training, visit other plants/vendors, etc)
