What you will do:
The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the design and execution of programs that align employees with business objectives while driving employee engagement. This is a generalist role that has significant influence over all disciplines of Human Resources.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and manage the semi-annual performance review process, ensuring alignment between individual objectives and overall company goals
- Own the administration of performance management and engagement platforms, driving adoption and effectiveness across the organization
- Design, distribute, and analyze employee engagement surveys, and develop actionable strategies and communications based on results
- Manage and continuously improve the new hire orientation process to ensure a consistent and welcoming employee experience
- Ensure organizational compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local HR laws and reporting requirements (e.g., EEO-1, affirmative action plans, labor law postings)
- Monitor changes in employment legislation and proactively adjust policies and practices to maintain compliance
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and employees, offering strategic HR counsel grounded in legal risk assessment and business acumen
- Address and resolve complex employee relations issues, including investigations, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions
- Lead change management and communication efforts tied to HR initiatives and organizational growth
- Support workforce planning and headcount forecasting efforts through data analysis, reporting, and cross-functional collaboration
- Develop, implement, and manage scalable HR policies, procedures, and systems that support current operations and future growth
- Promote a safe work environment by ensuring compliance with workplace health and safety standards and company-specific procedures
- Serve as an advisor on HR-related legal matters, including policy development, investigations, labor relations, and regulatory changes
- Partner with executive leadership to align HR practices with organizational goals while ensuring adherence to applicable law
- Perform additional responsibilities and special projects as assigned by leadership
What we need you to bring to the team:
- Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education and experience
- 12+ years' experience in a Human Resources generalist role and 5+ years’ experience in a leadership role (excluding internships and co-ops)
- High level of integrity, trustworthiness, and the ability to maintain confidential information
- Extensive experience in HR leadership with demonstrated ability to design and scale programs that support organizational growth
- Deep knowledge of federal, state, and local labor laws with proven success in ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and advising on complex HR and legal matters
- Strong strategic leadership skills with the ability to align HR initiatives with business objectives and influence at the executive level
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build trust, motivate teams, and collaborate across all levels of the organization
- Previous experience implementing employee programs that scale for rapid growth
- Financial and operational acumen with experience managing budgets, schedules, and resources to meet corporate requirements
- Proven ability to navigate complex issues, negotiate with multiple stakeholders, and drive long-term organizational success
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite
- SPHR or SHRM-SCP certification preferred
Compensation:
- The anticipated starting pay range for this position is $155,000-$190,000 and may be more or less depending upon skills, experience, and education.
