The Executive Underwriter – Film & TV role is fully remote, and the position will operate on Pacific Standard time hours.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and underwrite an existing portfolio of studio and large blanket Film and Television accounts including Production Package, Commercial General Liability, Commercial Auto Liability, Excess Liability and Workers’ Compensation policies.
- Work independently within underwriting authority guidelines and liaise with carrier’s program manager for coverage outside of authority.
- Review and evaluate quote submissions; analyze data; create coverage, limit and deductible comparisons; establish rating, pricing and terms; prepare proposals; negotiate terms.
- Create, modify and issue all manuscript policies.
- Underwrite and quote excess buy-backs, stop dates and special/supplemental coverages.
- Oversee cast medical underwriting and coverage terms.
- Coordinate fronting policies in other countries and work with affiliate offices to process per country regulations.
- Manage, update and track Self Insured Retentions.
- Gather data and produce reports for internal and external sources.
- Train, mentor and manage an underwriter and assistant underwriter.
- Work closely and effectively communicate with brokers to provide them with a service that supports the positive image of the company.
- Attend client/broker meetings and conference calls.
- Provide support to internal and external accounting, actuaries, legal and claims adjusters.
- Meet growth goals and ensure profitability.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
- 10 years+ of Film and Television underwriting experience.
- Possess in-depth knowledge and underwriting expertise with Production Package, Commercial General Liability, Commercial Auto Liability, Excess Liability and Workers’ Compensation policies.
- Full knowledge and expertise of cast medical underwriting.
- Proficient in managing and evaluating Self-Insured Retention program
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex accounts
- Self-starter who is able to work independently as well as collaboratively, as needed.
- Detail-oriented, organized and have effective time management skills.
- Demonstrate ability to build and maintain strong insured and broker relationships.
- Strong communication skills including verbal and written communication, collaboration, presentation skills and willingness to mentor others.
The base salary offered for the successful candidate will be based on compensable factors such as job-relevant education, job-relevant experience, training, licensure, demonstrated competencies, geographic location, and other factors. Discretionary incentive compensation may be awarded.
