Outreach Liaison cultivates relationships with healthcare providers, referral agencies, and other community groups to promote UTM Martin Healthy Families and Parents As Teachers. Promotion areas include Benton, Carroll, Weakley, Lake, Lauderdale, Dyer, Henry, Obion, and Tipton counties.
Responsibilities
Attend all community meetings to promote program services: Community Advisory Boards (CABs), Prevention Coalitions, Health Councils (engage/participate on Health Council subcommittee teams), and other applicable group meetings where services can be shared.
Identify agencies/partners within the community to visit and provide specific outreach information for program services on a weekly/monthly/quarterly basis (develop schedule for regular in-person contacts).
Identify partnerships that will allow program engagement with client population to promote services directly to families at partner site (Example: Health Departments, pediatric offices, OB providers, etc.)
Plan/implement and/or identify opportunities for community events to promote program services and meet potential clients for referrals
Coordinate with Supervisor and outreach team to ensure a consistent presence is maintained in all counties served.
Maintain documentation in outreach log on weekly basis.
Coordinate with outreach and FSS team to plan and implement Parent Groups for existing program families on monthly/quarterly basis.
Develop plans to target counties with lower program participation and implement outreach efforts in those areas.
Consider new and innovative ways to distribute promotional information and implement plans in all served counties.
Report to supervisor regularly to inform of outreach efforts, events, and future plans.
Maintain ongoing communication with program manager, supervisors, and direct staff to ensure accurate updated program information is being shared with the community.
Attend trainings to meet contract requirements, accreditation requirements, and to maintain needed knowledge base.
Qualifications
High school diploma and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Knowledge of infant and child development, maternal-infant health and dynamics of child abuse and neglect.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Proficient Microsoft Office and technological skills.
Ability to appropriately maintain social media platforms.
Ability to work independently and as a part of a team.
Proficient organizational skills.
Ability to speak in front of large groups of people
