DEPARTMENT PURPOSE: To secure philanthropic support for Oklahoma State University through meaningful donor engagement and strategic fundraising partnerships with unit/college partners.
PRIMARY PURPOSE: Provide proactive, organized support to the development team by taking ownership of key projects, contribute to donor engagement, stewardship and event execution.
This role provides flexible, hands-on support to the development team, assisting with events, donor and campus communications and general office operations. With focus on strong communication skills, the ability to stay organized and multitask, this position offers many opportunities to develop professional abilities while accommodating student class schedules. This role is an opportunity to play a key role in connecting donor passions with university priorities, gaining hands-on experience in higher education fundraising, that strengthens our mission.
KEY AREAS OF FOCUS:
- Development Support -
- Take initiative in research projects using Ascend/OnBase
- Assist in coordinating and executing events for all College units
- Prepare, personalize and print mail merges, labels, envelopes, and nametags for donor outreach
- Organize, prepare and send birthday, holiday, anniversary cards, and acknowledgements to donors
- Enter stewardship contact reports for all College units
- Submit and monitor recurring KACE tickets
- Scan and send documents to Central Files
- Contribute to special projects and take on new challenges as assigned
- Office Errands and Supply Management -
- Maintain office supplies on both first and second floors
- Restock kitchen supplies (coffee, paper towels, etc.)
- Deliver materials to various campus and off-campus locations
- Front Desk Coverage -
- Answer and route incoming calls professionally
- Manage daily mail delivery and distribution
- Open and close the Foundation building as needed
JOB COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE:
- Education & Certification -
- High school graduation is required; some college study is preferred.
- Current OSU Student
- Experience -
- Written and verbal communication skills; professional communication with proper spelling, grammar, etc. in addition to the ability to proofread ensuring accuracy
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Outlook, Word and Excel

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must use a computer terminal and view a computer screen for extended periods of time. Must talk in person or by phone (frequently and sometimes for extended periods) to people on campus and across the country. Must constantly use visual acuity to check printed and designed materials of various types. Must be able to navigate within the OSU Foundation. Typical office working conditions.
