Description

Skytech, Inc. is currently seeking a qualified Quality Assurance Inspector to join our team at our FAA Part 145 Repair Station in Westminster, MD (DMW). This position plays a critical role in supporting the Chief Inspector and ensuring that all maintenance, documentation, inspection procedures, and regulatory requirements are met with accuracy and consistency.


Job Summary


The Quality Assurance Inspector will assist with the review of work orders, audits, inspections, and other quality assurance functions. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work closely with both inspection and maintenance personnel to ensure aircraft are maintained to the highest standard of safety and compliance.


Essential Duties/Responsibilities

  • Review weekly work orders for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable regulations
  • Assist with internal audits and annual vendor audits
  • Assist the IT department with providing and maintaining computer software and systems
  • Help develop and maintain training programs and keep training records current
  • Assist team leaders and inspectors in inspecting aircraft prior to return to service, ensuring all work has been properly completed and documented
  • Build and manage work orders, including squawks, time sheets, labor and parts tracking
  • Contact customers for pre-arrival information if needed.
  • Verify parts have been properly ordered and received, ensuring traceability and certification
  • Support the maintenance of company rosters and documentation, including updates related to new hires and terminations
  • Assist with maintaining and updating company manuals (Repair Station Manual, Quality Control Manual, Training Manual)
  • Help prepare for and support external audits (FAA, customer, etc.)
  • Maintain compliance with FAA regulations and company procedures
  • Promote a culture of quality, safety, and continuous improvement
  • Other duties as assigned, including supporting maintenance or parts personnel when necessary

Requirements

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Certificate required
  • FAA Inspectors Authorization (IA) Certificate preferred
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in aircraft maintenance, with at least 1 year in a quality or inspection role under Part 145
  • Strong understanding of FAA regulations (Parts 43, 65, 91, 135, and 145)
  • Ability to read and interpret maintenance manuals, technical data, and regulatory documentation
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Office (Visio experience preferred)
  • Excellent attention to detail are a must
  • Strong organizational and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or acting as in a Quality Assurance role.
  • Familiarity with Pilatus, Piper, and similar aircraft platforms
  • Experience conducting audits, supporting training programs, or preparing for FAA inspections

Work Environment

This position will involve office and occasional hangar work. Candidates must be able to lift up to 90 pounds, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods. Occasional travel may be required for training or audit support.

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
