Supply Chain Management - Internship  

Are you a recent graduate or currently pursuing a degree in Supply Chain Management or Business? Do you want to be a part of a Global Group? THIS IS THE OPPORTUNITY FOR YOU! 

  

TheTenova Inc. internship program is designed to “test the waters” of working in the engineering and steelmaking industry. During your internship, you will work within a specific department on meaningful projects, gaining exposure to Tenova's culture, processes, and operations while developing a strong business mindset. 

 
The program is a blend of hands-on experiences and opportunities.  Throughout the program, you can expect to gain a better understanding of your future potential at Tenova through valuable project work. 

  

All internships last approximately 12 weeks.  Your start/end date can vary based on your final exam schedule and needs. We are currently seeking an intern or co-op student to begin in September. Internships are paid and designed to be a step towards joining Tenova with an entry-level position upon graduation. 

  

You will be involved in supporting the Procurement Team with tasks related to supplier onboarding, document control, vendor communication, and purchase order execution — all key components in supply chain management. 

 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Enter and update vendor information accurately in the supplier portal to ensure the supplier database remains current and compliant. 

  • Support the ongoing maintenance of supplier records, including documentation and qualification status. 

  • Assist in reviewing supplier documents to ensure all requirements for supplier qualification are met according to company and project standards. 

  • Help set up and monitor document deliverables in the supplier portal for effective purchase order (PO) execution. 

  • Proactively reach out to vendors via email and phone calls to expedite purchase order deliveries, ensuring prompt communication and coordination by copying the respective buyer and project manager. 

  • Collaborate with procurement team members to resolve any issues related to supplier data, documentation, or delivery delays. 

  • Learn and support procurement workflows, including supplier onboarding, order tracking, and vendor compliance. 

  • Participate in departmental meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives related to supplier management processes. 

  

To become an intern with Tenova, there are a few key things you’ll need to have/had: 

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Business Administration, or a related field. 

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools. 

  • Willingness to learn Enterprise Resource Planning software such as SAP or other ERP platform. 

  • Strong organizational and data entry skills with keen attention to detail. 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with internal teams and external vendors. 

  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative procurement team. 

  • Quick learner with a proactive mindset and a willingness to take initiative. 

  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment. 

Job Type: Part-time, max 30 hrs 

Salary: $20 per hour 

Work Location: In person 

Workplace: Coraopolis, PA 15108 (Pittsburgh area)
