BioStem is seeking an experienced IT Operations Manager to lead and grow the IT function while ensuring scalable, secure, and compliant technology operations. This role combines strategic oversight with team leadership, ensuring IT systems and solutions aligning with the Company’s goals and regulatory requirements. The IT Operations Manager will mentor staff, manage vendors, and drive digital transformation initiatives across the organization.


Responsibilities Including but not limited to the following, other duties may be applied:


  • Oversee system integrations, network performance, and hardware provisioning.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure (e.g., Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, AWS/Azure, ERP) and optimize scalability and cost.
  • Ensure data retention, storage, and backup systems meet business and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead cross-functional project teams, facilitate key meetings, and deliver presentations to senior leadership.
  • Define and implement technology solutions that drive efficiency, quality, and alignment with client objectives.
  • Anticipate and resolve complex, concurrent project challenges using project management and business acumen.
  • Establish performance metrics to continuously improve department output and system effectiveness.
  • Oversee project delivery and embed operational excellence strategies across the organization.
  • Establish and oversee IT onboarding/offboarding processes, access control, and general IT administration.
  • Supervise the IT service desk, ensuring timely and effective user support.
  • Implement and manage data security protocols, firewalls, and access management systems.
  • Develop and enforce IT policies.
  • Lead IT compliance training and testing.
  • Own incident response planning and coordinating remediation of security events.
  • Maintain audit-ready documentation for regulatory and certification requirements.
  • Define the IT roadmap in alignment with company goals and oversee IT budgeting and cost optimization.
  • Manage MSP, third-party vendors and consultants, including software licensing, cloud service agreements, contract negotiation, and performance reviews.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement new tools and technologies that improve efficiency, security, and scalability.
  • Drive business continuity and disaster recovery planning, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid response capabilities.
  • Oversee the distribution, tracking, and maintenance of IT equipment and inventory for Company personnel.
  • Manage the allocation and lifecycle of IT hardware, software, and related assets.
  • Mentor, manage, and grow the IT team as the company scales.
  • Partner with HR, Finance, Operations, Compliance, and other departments to ensure IT supports cross-functional needs.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Sciences, or related field. 
  • 7+ years of experience in IT management or senior IT roles, ideally within a regulated or fast-scaling organization; experience managing an IT function preferred. 
  • Ability to translate operational goals into actionable strategies across manufacturing, laboratory, supply chain, quality, engineering, and technology functions using digital technologies, data, advanced analytics.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical needs into business impact.
  • Must have strong verbal, written, and presentation skills to engage stakeholders, senior management, and lead teams effectively.
  • Manage multiple initiatives with strong organizational skills, ensuring alignment with team goals and measurable performance outcomes.
  • Strong knowledge of network management, system administration, cybersecurity, and cloud environments.
  • Familiarity with compliance frameworks such as HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or GDPR.
  • Proven experience in vendor management, budgeting, and IT strategy development.
  • Strong financial acumen with experience managing budgets and vendors.
  • Demonstrated success in driving IT strategy and organizational alignment.
  • Strong problem-solving and leadership skills, with a proactive and hands-on mindset.
  • Experience with AI and automation solutions preferred.
