Seven Lamps in Atlanta is looking for an Experienced Prep Cook!

We feature fresh, local craft foods made with passion. We make almost everything from scratch, offering the highest quality with sizable portions; think “elegant comfort” food. We are currently looking for a hard-working and motivated individual to join our team as a Back of House Staff: Line Cook with Grill & Pantry/ Sauté/Fry and Brunch Experience

The Back of House Team Members interact with guests and staff in a cordial, efficient, and professional manner, will learn & understand our menu recipes, and build and work cleanly and efficiently. He or she will help with other duties such as cleaning and/or prep work, and learn all stations. The ideal candidate has a pleasant and courteous personality, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and strong guest service skills.


Availability:  Weekends are a must!

Rate of pay: $18

Candidates must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

5 years plus Experience!


Job Overview:

The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and be able to work in a fast-paced environment. As a prep cook, you will assist in the preparation of delicious dishes in the kitchen. You’ll perform routine kitchen tasks such as setting up workstations and ingredients, so that food can be prepared according to recipes. A great prep cook will be quick, diligent, and willing to improve on the job. You must be able to follow instructions as well as all health and safety rules in the kitchen. The ideal candidate will also be able to function in a fast-paced, busy team environment. We strive each and every day to provide a fun and safe atmosphere and deliver a phenomenal dining experience for all who walk through our doors. Job Responsibilities (included but not limited to):

  • Follows proper dress code and Servsafe/health department guidelines.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills
  • Ensure line checks and temperature log structure are followed.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Follow the prep list and ensure all food is prepared to the highest quality standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area by washing dishes, sanitizing surfaces, taking out trash, etc.
  • Label and stock all ingredients on shelves so they can be organized and easily accessible
  • Ensure all food and other items are stored properly
  • Handles, stores, and rotates all products properly.
  • Assists in dishwashing during off-peak periods as needed.
  • Opening and/or Closing the kitchen properly and following the checklist for kitchen stations. Assists others in opening and/or closing the kitchen.
  • Helps maintain the organization and cleanliness of the kitchen, prep, walk-ins, restrooms, dish areas, and outside areas through the daily/weekly/monthly cleaning lists.
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned by the kitchen manager or manager-on-duty.
