Description
The Director of Security & Parking Strategy is responsible for overseeing the development and execution of strategies that protect the organization’s physical assets, parking infrastructure, employees, and guests. This role combines a strong operational focus with strategic planning across both security and parking domains. The Director will assess and mitigate risks, develop policies and procedures, ensure regulatory compliance, and guide both teams toward continuous improvement and service excellence. This position requires a balance of safety expertise, systems thinking, and a customer-first approach.
KEY RESPONCIBILITES:

- Strategic Planning & Integration
Develop unified strategies balancing security needs with parking operations to foster a safe, accessible, and positive environment for all users. - Policy Development and Enforcement
Create, review, and enforce policies that apply across both functions—covering emergency response, access control, visitor management, and compliance. - Risk Assessment and Mitigation
Perform comprehensive risk assessments addressing both security threats and parking-related safety issues, implementing coordinated mitigation plans. - Regulatory Compliance
Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards impacting both security and parking operations. - Incident Management and Response Coordination
Lead coordinated response efforts to incidents impacting security and parking, ensuring clear communication, effective resolution, and post-incident follow-up. - Budget Oversight and Financial Management
Develop and manage combined budgets for security and parking, monitor financial performance, and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies. - Technology Evaluation and Implementation
Assess, recommend, and oversee technology solutions that enhance safety, operational efficiency, and user experience across security and parking. - Team Leadership and Staff Development
Lead, mentor, and coordinate staff across both domains, fostering collaboration, accountability, and a shared culture of safety and service excellence. - Stakeholder Communication and Engagement
Serve as the principal liaison with internal teams and external stakeholders regarding security and parking policies, operational changes, and issue resolution.
SECURITY RESPONCIBILITIES:
- Develop and Recommend Security Strategies
Lead the design and implementation of physical security plans to protect people, facilities, and assets. Align initiatives with organizational goals and emerging threats. Monitor and improve strategy effectiveness. - Risk Assessment and Mitigation
Conduct ongoing vulnerability assessments, identify potential security threats such as unauthorized access or workplace violence, and implement preventative measures. - Policy and Procedure Development
Develop, maintain, and communicate clear security policies and protocols, ensuring they stay current with best practices and regulatory changes. - Compliance Management
Ensure security operations comply with all applicable laws and industry standards. Manage audits and inspections related to physical security. - Incident Response and Management
Maintain incident response plans, lead investigations into security breaches, coordinate cross-functional incident resolution, and implement corrective actions. - Security Awareness Training
Develop and deliver security awareness programs educating employees on safety protocols, threat identification, and cybersecurity best practices. - Collaboration and Communication
Work closely with IT, HR, Legal, and Facilities to embed security into business processes and communicate risks and policies effectively to all levels of the organization.
PARKING RESPONCIBILITIES:
- Develop and Recommend Parking Strategies
Analyze parking operations and recommend plans to optimize space utilization, user experience, and revenue generation. Propose policy or infrastructure changes as needed. - Analysis and Planning
Conduct parking demand studies and utilization analysis. Review financial data related to parking revenue and expenses. Use data to inform strategic decisions. - Implementation and Management
Oversee daily parking operations including facility management and staff supervision. Ensure parking enforcement and customer service meet organizational standards. - Stakeholder Engagement
Liaise with community groups, business owners, tenants, and internal stakeholders to address parking concerns and communicate policy changes clearly. - Technology and Innovation
Evaluate, recommend, and oversee implementation of parking technologies such as smart parking systems, mobile payments, and real-time monitoring tools. - Financial Management
Manage the parking budget, monitor revenue streams and expenses, and identify opportunities for cost savings and revenue enhancement.
Requirements

Strong knowledge of physical security principles, incident response, access control, and threat mitigation. - Parking Operations Knowledge
Familiarity with parking management, enforcement, regulations, and technology platforms. - Strategic Thinking & Execution

IDEAL BACKGROUND:
- Minimum 10 years in security planning, parking operations, facilities management, or related fields, preferably in customer-facing or mixed-use environments (e.g., healthcare, retail, hospitality, campuses).
- Knowledge of parking technology, security systems, and access control.
- Preferred but not required, Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Public Administration, or related fields. Preferred certifications such as CPP, CAPP, or PSP are a plus.
