General Summary: Responsible for the quality and regulatory compliance of our group homes and contracts. The Senior Group Home Manager promote a culture of person-centered services that advances Goodwill’s mission to provide quality care and services in a community-based setting to individuals with disabilities. This individual will oversee and develop the group home staff within the authorized operating budget. 

Supervisory responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains direct reports. 
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the group homes. 
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. 
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy. 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

Resident relationship: Assist individual development by encouraging, empowering, and engaging residents in essential life and recreational activities to teach independent living, self-confidence, communication, and practical skills. Ensure a high rate of resident satisfaction. 

Operational Management: Plan, organize, and supervise the delivery of care to residential residents. Ensure facilities adhere to the latest healthcare regulations, maintain high occupancy levels, and provide high-quality service while meeting the needs of residents and complying with funding agency agreements. Conduct regular management meetings. Complete reports and communicate key information to the Clinical Residential Services Manager in a timely, accurate, and comprehensive manner.

Budget: Review Residential Options’ budgets, monitoring and controlling labor, supply, and home repair expenses for assigned homes and advising managers on spending, meeting financial goals within established budgetary guidelines. Propose capital expenditure and submit capital expenditure requests to the Director of Mission for review/consideration.

Administrative Support: Manage group site in absence of clinical manager. Conduct training class per Clinical Manager or training department request. Assist with special projects or reports as needed. Oversees the staffing levels and schedule at the group homes.

Quality Compliance: Develop, facilitate, and implement quality individual service plans. Follow all Goodwill organizational and programmatic policies and procedures. Be the ambassador of safety from the group homes. Supervise the resident medication administration and supervision procedures. Effectively communicate with residents, professionals, home office staff, family members and others verbally and in writing. Maintain the group homes ready for any inspections and audits. Maintain the group homes as safe, decent and sanitary.

Leadership/Teamwork: Performs duties of the Clinical Manager in their absence. Demonstrate competent behavioral and clinical interventions working with consumers. Guide staff in the demonstration of respectful and recovery-oriented service. Lead staff and place people in positions to succeed. Encourage effective outcomes and accountability. Plan, develop, organize, implement, direct, and evaluate assigned sites’ activities and performance. Communicate job expectations. Plan, monitor, and appraise job results; evaluate team for continual improvement, efficiency, and effectiveness. Initiate, coordinate, and enforce systems, policies, and procedures. Mentor and develop the team through training, problem resolution, and performance evaluation. Requirements

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required:

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the willingness to learn and use databases.
  • Valid Driver’s License, good driving record and proof of insurance. 

Required education and/or work experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services or related field plus a minimum of 1 year of work experience supporting individuals living with disabilities is preferred.  
  • Associate degree in related field and 3 years of work experience supporting individuals living with disabilities, can also be considered. 
  • 1-year Supervisory experience is required.

  • Ability to maintain a stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment, mostly indoor office environment. 
  • Must be able to clearly communicate 
  • Ability to stand, walk up and down stairs without assistance, lift, push or pull up to 20 lbs.
