Job summary
As a Maintenance Technical Assistant, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring routine interior and exterior maintenance functions as it pertains to production, building maintenance and assisting the maintenance team as needed. You will be responsible for performing simple repairs and preventative maintenance activities to the required standards and responding promptly to production needs in both GMP and non-GMP areas of the facility.
While you will collaborate with a team, you will also frequently work independently, demonstrating a high level of accuracy and safety in your tasks.
Main Responsibilities:
- Daily Inspections: Conduct daily walk-throughs and inspections to ensure all mechanical systems are functioning properly through preventative work.
2. Pvc repair: Conducted PVC repair in a confined area requiring crawling and maneuvering in tight spaces. Utilized appropriate measurement tools and techniques to ensure accuracy and safety.
3. Collaborative Work: Assist various trades and provide support to complete tasks efficiently.
4. Problem Identification: Locate sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation, using sight, sound, and touch to identify troublesome areas.
5. Organization: help maintaining the inventory using excel and regular walkthrough.
6. Facility Maintenance: Assist with daily maintenance tasks when needed.
7. Contractor Coordination: Coordinate work with contractors to ensure timely and effective completion of projects.
8. Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies to minimize downtime and ensure safety.
9. Documentation: Use software like Dimo CMMs and isolocity to complete the documentation on daily basis for your work order. Also uses Excel to send a shift report.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
1. Mechanical Systems: Understanding of mechanical systems and their components.
2. Preventive Maintenance: Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and procedures.
3. Safety Standards: Awareness of safety standards and regulations in a maintenance environment.
4. Tools and Equipment: Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in maintenance tasks.
5. Technical Manuals: Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics.
6. Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and fix issues efficiently.
7. Attention to Detail: High level of attention to detail to ensure accuracy in maintenance tasks.
8. Communication: Effective communication skills to work with team members and contractors.
9. Time Management: Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
10. Physical Stamina: Physical stamina to perform manual labor and handle tools and equipment.
11. Adaptability: Flexibility to handle a variety of tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
12. Teamwork: Ability to work well as part of a team and provide support where needed.
Education & Experience:
1. Relevant Experience: Previous experience in a similar maintenance role.
2. Basic Maintenance Knowledge: Demonstrated knowledge of basic maintenance tasks.
3. Specialized Skills: Experience with PVC repairs is considered an asset.
4. Certifications: Forklift certification is preferred.
5. Versatility: Willingness to perform various support tasks as needed.
6. Shift Flexibility: Ability to work any shift, including overtime and weekend rotations.
7. Safety Awareness: Strong regard for safety and knowledge of safety standards.
8. Physical Capability: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs independently.
9. Furniture Handling: Capability to move and rearrange furniture within safety standards and limits.
