POSITION SUMMARY

The Sales Operations Product Manager is responsible for maximizing the value of sales operations systems (e.g., CRM, CPQ, data reporting, etc.) by ensuring they meet the evolving needs of the business. This important role will act as the voice of their internal users like sales reps, and ops leads and work closely with technical teams to deliver improvements. This role is pivotal in shaping the digital backbone of our sales organization, ensuring tools like Salesforce and ModelN drive revenue growth, operational efficiency, and customer success. The Product Owner in this space is essentially a business translator and value maximizer—ensuring that tools used by Advanced Energy not only function well but help teams close more deals, work more efficiently, and stay aligned with strategic goals. Success in this role will be measured by improvements in sales cycle time, user adoption of tools, and data accuracy across platforms. This role can lead to an advancement to Director of Sales Operations or cross-functional leadership roles.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Engage with stakeholders from Sales, Marketing, RevOps, and Sales Enablement to gather system requirements.
  • Translate business goals into user stories, epics, and detailed feature requirements.
  • Maintain a well-groomed product backlog with clear priorities based on business value.
  • Define and communicate the roadmap for sales tools and platforms (e.g., Salesforce, ModelN, Forecasting, data dashboards, etc).
  • Aligning tool strategy with broader company objectives like revenue growth, pipeline acceleration, and customer retention.
  • Work with cross-functional stakeholders including Sales Operations, IT and Data Analytics
  • Identify inefficiencies in sales workflows and propose tool-based solutions.
  • Own the delivery of new capabilities (e.g., forecasting dashboards, automated lead routing, pipeline health indicators).
  • Participate in agile discussions like sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Define acceptance criteria, approve completed work, and manage testing/UAT with users.
  • Assist in onboarding and training users on system updates or new tools.
  • Gather user feedback to iterate and improve the systems.
  • Direct responsibility for managing the data and analytics team
  • Ensure data integrity and smooth integration between tools (e.g., syncing between CRM, CPQ, ERP’s and Data warehouse).
  • Collaborate with IT or engineering for API-based integrations and data pipelines.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Location: Denver, CO highly preferred; will consider working from other AE locations in the US. 
  • Environment: Standard office environment, onsite at Corporate HQ
  • Travel: Global and domestic travel may be required, up to 10%

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8+ years of experience in sales operations, with CRM and CPQ systems, or a similar roles
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Salesforce is most common), CPQ tools (e.g. ModelN) required
  • Experience with Salesforce, ModelN, Tableau/Power BI, and ERP systems like SAP or Oracle is strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated capability to work with sales metrics, dashboards, and reports; proficient in Excel, SQL, and/or BI Tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI)
  • Strong capability to identify root causes and propose scalable solutions for process inefficiencies or tool limitations
  • High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving

 

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field required
  • MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Salesforce Administrator or Product Owner certifications strongly preferred
  • Agile/Scrum certifications (e.g., CSPO) strongly preferred
  • Additional Relevant Certifications (preferred): Salesforce Admin, Model N High Tech Revenue Cloud, Project Management, Six Sigma

 

COMPENSATION

As required by multiple state pay transparency laws, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for each job posting. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. The range of starting base pay for this role is $120,000 to $190,000 per year. Additionally, this position is eligible for the Company’s Short-Term Incentive Plan.
