Role Description
Your Role
The Director, Payer Marketing will be responsible for serving as a strategic partner in leading the development and implementation of strategies and tactics that support Market Access strategies for existing and anticipated brands. This position will be responsible for constructing the Market Access Value Platform and support materials to ensure product differentiation and formulary positioning. The role will establish strategies and tactics that will compli-antly enhance our products value proposition across functional areas of sales, marketing and medical affairs. The position requires work with US and global teams to align and share customer in-sights in the development of customer programs with US Payers and other key external stakeholders.
Your Responsibilities
• Provide critical leadership in developing payer brand strat-egy that addresses pricing, product access, reimbursement (both Pharmacy and Medical reimbursement), and tactics that can be executed successfully by LEO Pharma customer facing associates.
• Contribute to providing input into US market access strat-egies including launch and pricing strategies, input into clinical program design to assess reimbursement impact including HEOR.
• Lead, develop, and insure excellence in execution of payer value platforms across strategic brands.
• Develop, train and implement the necessary promotional tools, reimbursement/formulary pull-through and quality initiative programs that support account team efforts with key customers in critical markets.
• Develop working relationship and collaborate across mar-keting, sales, medical affairs global market access, fi-nance, legal, compliance, and other functional teams in the development and implementation of novel tools/resources.
• Manages Agencies to deliver tools/tactics/resources to ensure tools/programs meet expectations and delivered on time and within budget.
• Manages contracts and other agreements with third party vendors from contract development through fulfillment and payment.
• Working closely with medical affairs, evidenced based medicine (EBM/HEOR) and market research to identify and analyze trends and/or changes which will influence market access now and in the future.
• Creating actionable analytics at the plan and local market level.
• Creating payer materials for an unbranded disease awareness campaign.
Your Qualifications
• Minimum 10 years’ experience within the pharmaceutical industry, and/or managed care industry, with a minimum of 3 years in marketing and sales
• BA/BS degree required. Advanced Degree/Masters in related healthcare field preferred.
• Deep working knowledge of evolving US healthcare landscape, US Payer systems, evolving trends in health care including value-based purchasing, population health management, evidence-based medicine, and quality measures
• Excellent written and oral communication skills with experience in delivering presentations in group settings
• Knowledge/understanding of managed care trends, pricing, healthcare reimbursement, health benefit design, and the distribution channels relevant to pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry (both Pharmacy and Medical reimbursement)
• Familiarity with current legal and regulatory landscape pertinent to the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry
• Product launch experience desired
• Ability to manage multiple and diverse product lines, customer segments, and levels of internal/external stakeholders; demonstrated ability to manage and pivot between products, customer segments and high stakeholder layers quickly, effectively and successfully
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, a demonstrated ability to gather, understand, evaluate information from various sources
• Experience in specialty rare products channel and specialty rare product channel preferred.
• Experience in dermatology is a plus.
• Individual must possess the ability to build consensus in a matrix environment with multiple functional groups supporting the brand team
• Ability to travel approximately 25-30%.
The base salary range for this position is $225,000 - $255,000 per year. The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high of the LEO Pharma range for this position. Salary will vary based on various factors such as the candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies, and proficiency for the role. In addition, some positions may include eligibility to earn commissions/bonus based on company and / or individual performance.
