Key Responsibilities
IT support and troubleshooting
- Assist the global IT team in daily tasks, including IT helpdesk support, troubleshooting, hardware/software setups and onboarding new team members in Australia, US and Europe.
- Maintain IT asset registers, user accounts, and access permissions.
- Support the IT Manager to create, maintain and socialise IT and cybersecurity policies, best practices, standard operating procedures, documentation, and asset management controls.
- Participate in IT projects, drive adoption of new tools and systems, and deliver IT-related training.
- Help to implement and monitor progress towards the DISP Maturity Action Plan and System Security Plan.
- Enable implementation, maintenance and auditing cyber security frameworks to meet accreditation standards for NIST SP 800-171, ISO-27001/2:2013 or ASD Essential 8.
- Facilitate collaboration between the company, managed service providers, and security and compliance consultants.
- Coordinate the Company’s response to IT security incidents, support security assessments.
Facilities and security
- Perform the role of Security Officer (SO) to meet requirements under the Defence Industry Security Program (DISP) Security Policies and Plans:
- Undertake the day-to-day management of office security to comply with the requirements of DISP membership and meet all physical security requirements as per the Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF).
- Respond to and report any security incidents as soon as possible to Defence.
- Develop, apply and regularly review security policies and plans and monitor progress towards the organisation’s DISP Maturity Action Plan.
- Deliver and ensure all staff complete security training, including for insider threat identification, reporting and management.
- Maintain a Designated Security Assessed Positions list and security register including security incident reports, contact reports and overseas travel briefings, and make these available to Defence upon request.
- Support security clearance holders to report changes in circumstances, complete incident and contact reports and conduct overseas travel briefings.
- Facilitate Defence mandated security education and training courses for personnel engaged in Defence work.
- Take part in the Security Awareness Training course and refresher training.
- Undergo an interview with Defence to confirm understanding of the SO’s security obligations.
- Protect official, sensitive and classified materials entrusted to the company in accordance with DSPF requirements at all times.
- Ensure facilities are well-maintained and a high level of presentation and safety compliance is achieved.
- Be the point of contact for staff in relation to general facilities requests.
- Conduct regular proactive observations and inspections of the buildings, fittings, furniture, plant and equipment.
- Control reactive, preventive and planned maintenance and tag and testing schedules for office equipment, safety and security equipment, machinery, plant and warehouse equipment and M&E services.
- Perform or coordinate a variety of general maintenance tasks
and repairs, graffiti removal.
- Engage and manage contractors and trades, building strong relationships:
- Source suitable vendors, coordinate proposals, quotes and scopes of works,
- Induct and supervise onsite contractors and third parties, and
- Ensure performance standards and contractual obligations are met.
- Maintain access controls, key registers and visitor logs; escort visitors as required.
- Manage CCTV and surveillance systems.
- Act as the workplace health and safety officer and fire warden, delivering staff training and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
- Maintain accurate records of assets, warranties, maintenance, inspection reports, compliance, service agreements, procurement and property disposal activities.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Generalist
IT
support technician training, such as Google IT Support Professional Certificate, CompTIA A+ Certification, Certificate III or Diploma in Information Technology, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience supporting a broad
range of IT
issues, including at least 1 year of Tier 2 IT support, preferably
with *nix systems.
- Experience building new instances in Intune, Entra and Jamf to onboard new users.
- Natural problem-solver with the ability to take initiative, gather information, think creatively and exercise independent judgment to address issues effectively.
- Exceptional organisation and time management skills, innate sense of urgency, eye for detail, capacity to multitask and able manage a high volume of work.
- Self-assured to influence a diverse range of stakeholders, deal with vendors, provide real time feedback to contractors and escalate concerns or roadblocks.
- Strong commitment to workplace health and safety and up-to-date understanding of WHS legislation, quality frameworks, and accreditation processes.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing delivery of service and maintenance contracts.
- General handy person knowledge and aptitude and demonstrated ability in handling power tools and equipment.
