As a Senior Payroll Officer at EML, you’ll play a pivotal role in making sure our people are paid accurately and on time, every time.
This isn’t just about processing pay runs , it’s about owning the payroll function end to end, providing trusted advice on legislation and policy, and working closely with leaders to deliver a smooth, compliant, and reliable service. You’ll also help drive improvements, from smarter systems to streamlined processes, ensuring we’re always moving forward.
This will be a full time, permanent position based in the Sydney office, with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days per week.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the development and delivery of payroll strategy, ensuring efficiency, scalability and strong business partnerships.
- Manage the end-to-end fortnightly payroll cycle, including data entry, validations, leave, deductions, adjustments, reconciliations, month-end tasks and payments.
- Prepare accurate and timely ad-hoc reports.
- Identify and implement process and system improvements, including cost-benefit analysis and training.
- Champion continuous improvement and stay across industry trends to ensure best practice.
ABOUT YOU
- 5 years experience managing payroll in a fast paced, complex business environment.
- In depth understanding of payroll legislation, including awards, payroll tax, superannuation, PAYG and workers compensation, with the ability to interpret and apply this knowledge in practice.
- Advanced skills in the Microsoft Office suite, with a particular focus on Excel for reporting, analysis and reconciliations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships and provide outstanding customer service to stakeholders at all levels.
- A relevant qualification in Payroll or Accounting is highly desirable.
