The Head of eCommerce is a pivotal leader within MECCA’s Digital organisation, accountable for shaping the vision, strategy, and performance of MECCA Brands’ online business as we accelerate towards our ambition to be the #1 Beauty Destination in ANZ. 

The Role You Could Play

As Head of eCommerce, you will define and deliver a best-in-class digital commerce strategy that drives sustainable growth, market leadership, and seamless integration of MECCA’s brand promise across channels. You’ll be accountable for commercial outcomes through site optimisation, conversion innovation, merchandising, and compelling omnichannel engagement—elevating the richness of our physical retail online.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Define and deliver the eCommerce growth strategy to achieve annual targets. Maintain robust forecasting and performance reporting to give the business clear visibility of online trading performance
  • Own the delivery of a best-in-class website, ensuring it reflects MECCA’s brand vision and customer-first philosophy
  • Lead the end-to-end execution of new site functionality, working closely with the Digital Product Team, technology partners, and third-party agencies
  • Drive ongoing conversion optimisation through rigorous experimentation (A/B testing) and supporting advanced personalisation strategies
  • Set the strategic roadmap for SEO, UX/UI, and customer engagement to continually expand MECCA’s digital customer base
  • Act as the executive owner of major eCommerce projects, accountable for delivery, timelines, budgets, and stakeholder management working with technology
  • Support the Digital Product team with robust governance frameworks for backlog management, sprint planning, and release cycles
  • Oversee the creation, curation, and execution of dynamic and personalised content across the website, ensuring relevance to customer segments
  • Drive the integration of digital campaigns with brand, marketing, and CRM strategies to create a unified omnichannel customer journey
  • Manage the eCommerce P&L in partnership with the Financial Business Partner
  • Partner with Supply Chain and Operations to elevate fulfilment capabilities
  • Lead, coach, and inspire a high-performing eCommerce team, building internal capability and succession pipelines

What You Will Bring

You will set the benchmark for digital excellence by anticipating consumer behaviour, leveraging emerging technologies, and embedding best-practice approaches across eCommerce. Harnessing insights from data and market trends, you’ll evolve MECCA’s digital capability while fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.

You will also bring:

  • 10+ years’ experience in eCommerce with a proven record of delivering growth.
  • Demonstrated experience managing a P&L and delivering on commercial targets.
  • Strong leadership experience managing and developing large, high-performing teams.
  • Deep understanding of the key levers that drive online performance, including CRM, social, and customer engagement.
  • Advanced commercial acumen and analytical capability, with a focus on actionable insights.
  • Collaborative mindset, partnering effectively with supply chain, brands, buying, product, and other teams to achieve business objectives.
  • Strategic thinker with the drive and resilience to execute long-term plans.
  • Proven track record of working with product and technology teams to shape and deliver digital roadmaps.
