The opportunity:
As the Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) Support, you will provide administrative support to the EHS team maintaining key systems and programs.
About your new team:
The EHS team is responsible for providing effective direction, solutions, guidance and support for all at MCRI to achieve positive Health, Safety, Wellbeing and Sustainability outcomes.
EHS acts as the primary contact for a number of regulatory requirements. The team acts as a liaison with external stakeholders such as regulatory authorities, suppliers, MCRI/VCGS collaborators on EHS matters. The team supports an MCRI network of individuals supporting EHS initiatives (i.e. HSRs, Zone Wardens etc.) and Committees (WHS, Sustainability, Health & Wellbeing). The team co-ordinates the Health & Wellbeing program and works collaboratively with other stakeholders.
Your responsibilities include:
- Coordinate uploads of safety data sheets to the ChemWatch chemical management software
- Approve staff requests to join the Fitness Passport program
- Review upcoming travellers and provide reminders to download the International SOS Assistance App
- Coordinate maintenance and purchasing of spill kits and supplies
- Maintain the list of first aiders in the EHS software platform and EHS noticeboards
What we need from you:
- Strong proficiency working with databases and software platforms
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, SharePoint, Teams)
- Advanced written and oral communication and presentation skills
- High degree of attention to detail and accuracy in communications and reporting
- Strong teamwork skills; a true collaborator
