- Develop stand-alone reports, dashboards, presentations, and written summaries to deliver actionable insights to internal and external stakeholders.
- Responds to ad-hoc data and informational requests from City leadership, members of the media, and other key internal and external stakeholders.
- Serves as a member on formal and informal working groups pertaining to data quality, HMIS, performance monitoring, and other relevant topics.
- Collaborate with outside organizations in data analysis activities that result from integrated data sharing agreements or shared research goals
- Bachelor’s degree in public policy, economics, statistics, urban planning, social work, computer science, or a related field. A master’s degree is preferred but not required. Relevant certifications may be substituted for formal education.
- At least two (2) years of professional experience in data analysis, research, program evaluation, or related work. A master’s degree may be substituted for one year of required experience.
- Demonstrated experience working with large datasets, including cleaning, transforming, analyzing, and summarizing data.
- Familiarity with SQL, with the ability to write queries to extract, filtering, joining, and summarizing data from relational databases.
- Experience developing reports, dashboards, or data visualizations using tools such as Apache Superset, Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny, or similar platforms.
- Experience in using programming languages such as R, Python, or Stata is preferred but not required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for non-technical audiences.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, work independently, and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
