Job Summary: 

The Director of Credentialing Service’s role is essential for strategic oversight, influence, and elevation of continuous quality improvement for ASCP BOC Credentialing Service’s decisions, processes and outcomes. The Director leads multi-team engagement, which is inclusive of credentialing, credential maintenance, primary source verification, fraudulent activities, appeals, formal complaints, testing accommodations, and digital badging. The Director is accountable for assuring positive outcomes for constituents, as well as internal and external stakeholders. 

This position has strategic oversight and influence by direct supervision of the Credentialing Services leadership team and oversees their supervision of adjacent teams.

 • Advances the successful implementation of high-impact initiatives that effectively elevate the BOC’s value and innovation. 

• Supervises, mentors, and guides team, for effective implementation of strategic initiatives

 • Leads and delegates research and investigation of credential-related fraudulent activities 

• Optimizes and engages internal leaders in Ethics Review Committee (ERC) decisions and credential related appeals 

• Investigates formal complaints, develops solutions and long-term strategies and effective communications and/or operations to mitigate complaints and elevate outcomes 

• Accountable for driving continuous quality improvements, including corrective and preventative actions as evidenced

 • Oversees the enhancements and overall test accommodation processes and procedures to assure fairness, consistency and impartiality in compliance with ADA regulations. 

• Influences strategic Credentialing Services website content and email notifications to enhance user experiences. • Guides maintenance and security of confidential archived records and verification resources / databases 

• Promotes effective strategic and tactical solutions to advance the Data Governance and Quality Improvement Councils outcomes

 • Effectively contributes to BOC financial and leadership development

 • Contributes to BOC’s ANAB accreditation portfolio, including the development and maintenance of accurate, current controlled documents for all Examination Excellence workflows. 

• Directs special projects as assigned by the ASCP BOC Executive Director 

• Engages and resolves urgent BOC matters in Executive Director’s absence 


Special Characteristics:

Exceptional leadership and communication skills to oversee team members and collaborate with ASCP departments to build strong partnerships and elevate outcomes. Proficient in the Personify and Docuware databases related to credential services for investigating issues and providing solutions. Strong interpersonal skills to partner with vendors and manage the production and quality assurance of their services. Excellent customer service skills to resolve and respond to feedback and complaints. Experience in data governance related to credentialing and recredentialing. 


Duties/Responsibilities:

• Cultivate a thorough understanding of the strengths of team members and departments to effectively delegate or assign tasks and deliver on achievable strategic goals

 • Team liaison for ERC meetings and deliverables 

• Team liaison for Credential Maintenance (CMC) meetings and deliverables

 • Team liaison for Appeals Committee meetings and deliverables 

• Lead research of BOC archives to verify or reinstate credentials 

• Develop and oversee CMP participation reports and primary source verification financial reports 

• Collaborate with Senior Director of BOC Operations to develop and implement continuous quality improvement of all related processes

 • Serve as team liaison to BOC sponsoring societies (quarterly reports), state licensing boards, and vendors (Pearson Vue, Scribes Inc., VRC) 

• Oversee revisions and updates to the BOC credential services website and associated PDF documents

 • Oversee the Interviewing, hiring, training of and reviews for Credentialing Services team members

 • Organize talent structure and engage colleagues

 • Leadership skills to provide the team with a clear sense of direction and lead projects to successful outcomes. 

• Willingness and ability to travel required 


Education and Experience: 

• Baccalaureate degree from a regionally accredited college/university required

 • Master’s degree, preferred 

• Minimum of 5 years business experience including at least 1-year leadership experience and a strong background in customer service
